Cambridge Student Returns to cThings to Tackle Heat Network Optimisation

June 2025

We’re delighted to welcome back Amy, a final-year Manufacturing Engineering student from the University of Cambridge, who has rejoined cThings to carry out a research project as part of her Master’s degree.

Amy first joined us as a summer intern and has since returned to focus on how heat meter data can be transformed into meaningful insights for district heating networks — an area growing in importance as new regulations come into force.

Her work is helping cThings explore smarter, data-driven ways to monitor and optimise heat network performance, ensuring systems are not only compliant with evolving standards but also efficient, sustainable, and delivering the best possible value for residents.

By applying this advanced analysis, the cThings Cloud continues to evolve as a market-leading platform for intelligent heat network management.

We’re thrilled to have Amy back on the team and excited to see where her research leads!
