The Role

As Head of Sales, you will lead the commercial growth of cThings’ Heat Networks & Sub-Metering division. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing the UK sales strategy, identifying new market opportunities, building strategic partnerships and delivering ambitious revenue growth targets. You will play a key role in shaping our commercial direction, working closely with the leadership teams at both cThings and Elvaco to establish cThings as the leading provider of smart metering, connectivity and analytics solutions within the UK heat network market. You’ll build relationships with consultants, housing associations, local authorities, energy service companies, M&E contractors and building owners, helping them understand how cThings’ solutions can support their projects. Working closely with our trusted network of partners, you’ll coordinate the supply of products, services and expertise required to deliver successful outcomes for customers across the energy and utilities sector. You’ll be supported by a highly experienced technical team and a market-leading portfolio of metering, connectivity and software solutions.

About you

You are an experienced sales leader with a proven track record of delivering growth within the energy, utilities, building services or technology sectors.

You will likely have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in technical B2B sales.
  • Experience leading strategic sales initiatives or commercial teams.
  • A strong network within heat networks, utilities, housing, energy services or building services.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and high-value contracts.
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and sales forecasting.
  • A desire to help shape and scale a fast-growing business.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the UK sales strategy for Heat Networks & Sub-Metering.
  • Deliver annual revenue and profitability targets.
  • Build and maintain a high-value pipeline of opportunities.
  • Establish strategic relationships with key customers, consultants, housing providers, ESCOs and framework providers.
  • Work with the senior leadership team to identify new markets, partnerships and routes to market.
  • Represent cThings and Elvaco at industry events, conferences and trade associations.
  • Build and lead a high-performing sales team as the business grows.
  • Provide regular sales forecasting and market intelligence to the board.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in business development, sales or account management.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Experience with CRM systems would be beneficial.
