Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a mid-level back-end developer who will:

  • Help us develop advanced IoT applications and large-scale data systems
  • Work on a wide range of challenges including writing firmware for devices to working on our analytics and AI/ML software
  • Lead and innovate in the prototyping of new products and ideas by working directly with industry leading clients
  • Work closely with all areas of the company, from product management, through developers and stakeholders — to make sure that we are solving the right problems

What we’re looking for:

  • A 1st or 2:1 degree in computer science, science, engineering or mathematics (or related field)
  • At least 2 years working as a software developer
  • Demonstrably excellent Python coding skills which go well beyond casual scripting
  • Good working knowledge of SQL (preferably MySQL) and NoSQL (preferably Redis and Elasticsearch)
  • A good understanding of RESTful API development – experience using Flask or FastAPI (or similar) would be beneficial
  • Experience working with cloud computing platforms (preferably AWS)
  • An understanding of DevOps, specifically knowledge of Version Control, Docker and the principles of CI/CD
  • An appreciation for “serverless” and micro-service architecture for the development of high-throughput data systems

  • Help us develop innovative web applications and turn creative designs into a reality
  • Work on a wide range of challenges including developing intuitive user experiences and designing complex interfaces
  • Lead and innovate in the prototyping of new products and ideas by working directly with industry leading clients
  • Work closely with all areas of the company, from product management, through developers and stakeholders — to make sure that we are solving the right problems

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in developing front-end web applications using HTML and CSS (including CSS pre-processors such as SASS)
  • Demonstrably excellent JavaScript coding skills which go well beyond casual scripting
  • A strong understanding of JavaScript libraries such as React (preferred), Angular or Vue
  • At least 2 years working as a front-end developer
  • A keen eye for design, visual-aesthetics and overall attention to detail
  • A good understanding of how to interface and process data from RESTful web APIs
  • An appreciation for the build cycle and confidence working with tools including Node.js, Webpack and NPM/Yarn

It would be useful if you have the following skills:

  • Knowledge using CI/CD tools (such as AWS CodePipeline)
  • Understanding of production deployment strategies and load balancing
  • Python and/or SQL
  • Experience with AWS

  • Work with our team to turn creative concepts and ideas into reality
  • Work on a wide range of challenges including designing and building new products, developing IoT solutions, managing the deployment of IoT systems and networks
  • Work directly with industry-leading clients to identify new product developments and resolve issues
  • Undertake data analysis on devices, assets and properties
  • Work closely with all areas of the company, from product management through software development and hardware engineering – to make sure that we are solving the right problems

What skills should you have?

We are looking for you to have the following core skills:

  • At least two years of working within the IoT space
  • Knowledge of the latest IoT technologies
  • Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise and plan effectively
  • Experience in designing IoT products
  • Knowledge of engineering design principles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • The ability to meet deadlines

It would be useful if you have an understanding of the following technologies/software:

  • Arm Mbed
  • LoRaWAN
  • NB-IoT
  • Python
  • Altium or equivalent electronic design software
  • MySQL
